Business Card Holder

I have two older brothers who are both married to amazing women, and hence I have three killer sisters (including my older sister) whom I adore. The brother closest to me in age is two years older than me and his wife is a just few months younger then me.

They met in San Diego, California where Jamie, my sister-in-law, was in university. Jamie and I met the Christmas break during my senior year of college, but didn't become too close until I moved to San Diego after graduation. I lived there all summer and hung out with her all the time. She quickly became one of my best friends.

Jamie is so super cool, sweet, fun, generous, and stylish. I'm so lucky to have a best friend that is also my sister. Although she hates cold weather, she moved to Vermont to be with my brother while he got his doctorate (given that she had a master's, he had to one-up her). While living on the East coast, she found her love for yoga. She studied and became an amazing, inspiring yoga instructor. I love doing yoga as well, and some of my recent, favorite memories of Jamie are our yoga lessons. She knows how to push me and encourages me to do things I never thought I could do - arm balances, head stands and getting my feet behind my head. While this photo is hardly the gnarliest thing she can do, I think it is so cool!

I mean seriously, how many people do you know that can do this?!?!

This last time we were together, she told me about a blog she is contributing to and gave me her business card. It is such a cool card, but she pulled it out of the plastic case that they came in (at least that's what it seemed like).

I decided at that moment that I needed to do something about this. Not only was the case not as cute as it could be, but she carried around a whole heap of cards when she probably only needed a few each day. Who needs more crap in their purse?!?

I looked online and found this tutorial. I looked through my fabrics to see if anything would do and headed to the fabric store for some bits and pieces.

I really love the fabrics and button I chose, and hope Jamie does too. It's such fun making things for people that I love. Additionally, this pattern was so simple and cute that I kind of want to make a million more. I think it could be totally girly with ruffles, or more manly with inside snaps instead of a big button.

Is anyone else in need of a business card holder?!?

Also, for those of you in the Boston area, check out a yoga class. I promise it will be awesome!
